Giving

“The dollar is a miraculous thing. It’s our personal energy reduced to portable form and endowed with power we do not ourselves possess. It can go where we cannot go; speak languages we cannot speak; lift burdens we cannot lift; save lives which we cannot deal with directly. Our dollar given to the church buys more to relieve human needs than any other place we might choose to invest it.”

~ Harry Emerson Fosdick

Giving Methods

  • Give Online
  • Giving Cash: Cash or checks can be given in the weekly offering, and checks can be mailed to the church office. Please make checks payable to Trinity Presbyterian Church; if you have a giving number or giving envelope number, please indicate on the memo line.
  • Giving Electronically: Electronic giving helps the church stabilize its cash flow, reduce administrative costs, and adds convenience for the giver. To give electronically, please complete an electronic giving form so that your giving takes place automatically from your bank account according to your instructions.
  • Giving Stock: When stock has appreciated, giving the stock directly to the church, rather than selling the stock and then giving the proceeds to the church, can allow the giver to avoid capital gains taxes. Please see the stock donation procedure.
  • Giving Through Estate Planning: Just as we are called to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us during our lifetime, we are also called to be good stewards of the resources that may remain at the end of life. You can support the ongoing ministry of Trinity through a planned gift included in your estate planning. For more information contact Dave McClure at (650) 474-0930.
  • Giving Designation

Giving can be designated in any of the following ways:

  • Unified Budget: The Unified Budget supports the ongoing ministries and operating expenses of the church. The ministry of Trinity depends on the faithful stewardship of all of us.
  • Capital Campaign: The Capital Campaign helps to complete the funding of our remodel which has led to a more accessible, safe, and welcoming church facility.
  • Deacons' Fund: The Deacons' fund supports needs in our community such as holiday baskets, FISH, emergency funds for those in needs, etc.
  • Support and Endowment Funds: the Support Fund is used for special church projects that are beyond the scope of the annual Unified Budget or the Deacons' Fund, including support of seminarians, special mission projects, and emergency support for those in need. The Endowment Fund is designed to ensure the continued growth and security of the church. The donation principal is retained in the fund and is allowed to grow. Only interest income is used for needs not supported by the annual unified budget.
