Worship

The Holy Spirit is wonderfully present and at work whenever we gather in groups of 2 or 3, 20 or 30, 200 or 300. Worship is centered on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. and opens with praise, moves to confession, forgiveness and sharing peace, finds the Word of God in the center and then we respond with the offerings of our lives to God, each other and the world. Worship continues in small groups, fellowship events, and mission as we give God all of the glory for ever present blessings. In time, worship becomes our daily lives, waking up with praise for rest and God's mercies being new every morning, giving thanks for daily bread before meals, turning back to God when we mess up, lifting up our concerns at bedtime or when we wake up with worries in the middle of the night.

We currently have one service that is filled with joyful contemporary and traditional music. The service leans more contemporary half the weeks and more traditional the others but no matter what, the congregation sings joyfully, loudly and mostly in tune (but that, of course, does not matter as long as we are singing from the heart.) The lyrics, unison prayers and readings are printed on the screens so that our heads and hearts can be lifted up in praise and wonder. Pastor David's Messages look at the historical and cultural contexts of the scriptures and then turn to relevant applications to our children's, families' and older adults' lives.
